Meet Jager & Porter!

From Jager & Porter's mom:

Jager(11) and Porter(5) are my entire world and are the epitome of the saying “who rescued who”.

I rescued Jäger 8 years ago when I was 21 from the Humane Society of Utah. He didn’t come with much background except that he was transferred from a high kill shelter in California. I was in no place to be owning a dog but, I just couldn’t stand living alone. He has been through every move, every heartbreak and every adventure with me. His happy face and husky howls kept a smile on my face no matter what. He is the reason for a lot of my friends (thanks dog Instagram) and the reason we got into dog sledding. Without him I don’t know where I would be. He is my entire world.

Porter I rescued when he was just a smol 8 week old baby cow from Free Spirit Siberian Rescue. He was the only one in his litter that looked like a cow and from the first time I saw his photo, I knew I needed to have him. This dog isn’t a dog. He is truly one of the weirdest creatures I have met. He is insane and because of that, we have tried different dog sports just to get him tired. He is my first dog that has reactivity issues and has taught me a lot of things that I didn’t learn with Jäger. Due to all the extra training, our bond is in the verge of being co-dependent. So much so that he turns into a little emo boi when I go out of town. He is the reason for so many laughs in my life and I’m truly so thankful for this dog/cow/giraffe/llama/alien.

These dogs have brought me so much joy, and a lot of gray hairs, and I’m so grateful that they chose me to be their forever person. ❤️
